Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Last updated: April 26, 2026
In one paragraph
Reservly does not sell personal information. Under CCPA/CPRA, "sell" means exchanging personal information for money or equivalent consideration. We have never done that and we're not going to — it's incompatible with our business model.
Reservly may "share" personal information with advertising platforms (Meta, Google, and similar) when we run paid advertising campaigns. "Share" is a separate legal term under CCPA/CPRA — specifically for cross-context behavioural advertising: measurement pixels and retargeting. This is how most SaaS platforms operate paid growth channels. Sharing is limited to marketing-site visitor data (reservly.io pages) — never end-user booking data on Reservly-hosted booking pages. The specific platforms active at any time are disclosed in Cookie Policy § 4 and on our Sub-Processor List.
This page is your opt-out. Submit a request below, or set the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, and Reservly will stop sharing your personal information with advertising platforms. Essential and functional cookies remain active regardless — you can still browse, sign up, log in, and receive emails.
1. Who this page is for
This page is for residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws that grant an "opt out of sale or sharing" right — currently California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Florida, Delaware, New Jersey, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, Indiana, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Minnesota, and Maryland. If you reside in another US state or outside the US, the general rights mechanism in our Privacy Policy § 9 applies.
1.1 If you are visiting with Global Privacy Control enabled
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, your opt-out is already applied — you do not need to submit any form on this page. Reservly detects GPC on every request and immediately treats it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for your browser session. If you are logged in to a Reservly account, the opt-out is also recorded against your account. The California Attorney General has confirmed that honouring GPC is required under CCPA; Reservly honours it regardless of which US state you are in.
2. Terms that matter
"Sell" under the CCPA/CPRA means to disclose personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. "Share" under the CCPA/CPRA means to disclose personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Several other state laws use "sale" (and sometimes "targeted advertising") with similar but non-identical definitions. Throughout this page, we use "sale" and "share" in their CCPA/CPRA sense; the opt-out we honour is the broadest available under whichever state law applies to you.
3. Reservly's position
To be unambiguous:
- Reservly has never sold personal information for money — and never will. "Sell" is a specific CCPA/CPRA term meaning exchange of personal information for money or equivalent consideration. Our business model is subscription software, not data.
- Reservly may "share" personal information with advertising platforms (Meta, Google, and similar) for measurement and retargeting when running paid campaigns. "Share" under CCPA/CPRA specifically targets cross-context behavioural advertising — this is what the opt-out on this page protects against.
- Sharing is limited to marketing-site visitor data. Reservly never shares end-user booking data — the personal information your customers submit through Reservly-hosted booking pages is not sent to any advertising platform.
- The specific ad platforms active at any time are disclosed in Cookie Policy § 4 and on the Sub-Processor List. Each is added with at least 30 days' advance notice.
- Reservly's sub-processors are contractually obligated to use personal information only for the purpose we specify — in the advertising context, that is limited to ad measurement and retargeting per our instruction, never for the sub-processor's independent commercial purposes.
Submitting a request on this page, or enabling the Global Privacy Control signal, stops Reservly from sharing your personal information with advertising platforms. It does not disable essential or functional cookies; see Cookie Policy for the full category breakdown.
4. How to submit a request
Four paths. All of them are equally valid; pick whichever is easiest.
4.1 Browser signal (Global Privacy Control)
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal on a request to reservly.io, we automatically treat it as an opt-out for your browser and for the account associated with it if you are logged in. No click needed. The California Attorney General has clarified that honouring GPC is required; we honour it regardless of which state you are in.
4.2 Email
Email support@reservly.io with subject line "Do Not Sell or Share". Include:
- The email address on your Reservly account (if you have one), or
- If you are an end user of a business that uses Reservly, the email address you provided at booking time.
We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and complete the request within 15 business days (or whatever shorter period your state's law requires).
4.3 From your Reservly account
If you are a Business subscriber, log in, go to Settings → Privacy, and toggle "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" on. The setting is saved immediately.
4.4 Cookie-preference banner
On your first visit to Reservly, the cookie banner includes a "Reject all" option that applies the same opt-out. You can revisit the banner from the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
5. Verification
We may need to verify that the request genuinely comes from you (or from someone you authorised) before we act on it. Typical verification is low-friction — confirming an email on file, or matching a booking to a request. We will never ask for government ID for a simple "do not sell" request.
6. Authorised agent
You may use an authorised agent to submit this request for you. We may require:
- A copy of a written permission, signed by you, authorising the agent to act on your behalf; or
- A power of attorney registered in California (or the equivalent mechanism in your state); and
- A means for us to verify the request directly with you (for example, a reply to an email sent to your address on file).
Authorised agents may email support@reservly.io with subject line "Do Not Sell — Agent Request" and attach the permission.
7. Non-discrimination
Exercising this right will not affect your Reservly experience. We will not:
- Deny you the Service, or a portion of it.
- Charge you a different price.
- Provide a different level of quality.
- Suggest that your account or usage will be restricted.
If you ever feel pressured or penalised for exercising this or any other privacy right, email support@reservly.io with subject line "Privacy Officer" and we will review immediately.
7.1 No financial incentive program
Reservly does not operate a financial incentive program that offers any price reduction, service enhancement, or other benefit in exchange for permission to sell or share your personal information. We do not charge a higher price or provide a lower quality of service to consumers who exercise their opt-out rights. This disclosure is required under CCPA/CPRA § 1798.125 and equivalent provisions under other state laws; the substance is simply that no such program exists.
8. Retention of your request
We retain a record of your request, our verification, and our response for 24 months, as required by CCPA/CPRA regulations. That record is kept separately from the data you opted out of being involved in and is not used for any other purpose.
8.1 Annual Do Not Sell or Share metrics
In accordance with CPRA regulations (Cal. Code Regs. § 7004) and as a voluntary commitment for all US state jurisdictions, Reservly will publish an annual summary of Do Not Sell / Do Not Share request metrics no later than January 31 of each calendar year covering the prior year. The summary will include:
- Number of opt-out requests received
- Number of opt-out requests completed within the required timeframe
- Number of requests denied (if any) and the basis for denial
- Number of GPC signals honoured
The first annual report will cover calendar year 2026 and will be published by January 31, 2027. Reports will be available at /legal/privacy-metrics once published.
9. Other rights available to you
This page handles the specific "do not sell or share" opt-out. Separate pages and processes handle other rights:
- Access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, and objection: see our Privacy Policy § 9.
- Appeal a denial (states where appeal is available, including Texas): reply to our response email with subject line beginning "Appeal".
- GDPR / EU data subject requests: see Privacy Policy § 9.2–9.4.
- File a complaint with a regulator: state attorney general, California Privacy Protection Agency, or your jurisdiction's equivalent. Contact information is in the Privacy Policy.
